Since my blog is called Wild Mustangs 101, I may as well do a post dedicated to wild mustangs. I thought that I would tell you some facts about them to increase your knowledge about wild horses (mustangs). I think the first thing that you should know is that there is a very wide variety of mustangs. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. There really isn’t a limit to how they look.
The other thing you should know about these horses, is that they aren’t all wild. The numbers of wild horses has depleted greatly in the last century or so. There are only about 25,000 horses left in only a couple of states in the U.S. That’s a small number compared to the approximately 2,000,000 that lived a century ago. The last fact that I have for you is mustangs are herd animals when they are in the wild. The reason for this is that they need protection from coyotes, mountain lions, etc. depending on where they live.
